The EO Smart Connecting Car 2 is an ultra flexible micro car for mega cities. The electric, robotic vehicle is the German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence’s answer to congestion and pollution.
Designed to be small, comfortable and easy to drive, the prototype has large windows and butterfly doors. Because each wheel is powered by its own motor, the vehicle can move sideways like a crab. This feature means it can fit into particularly tight parking spaces. It is also able, by partly folding itself, to reduce its size by about 80cm. In its folded mode it is the length of an average bicycle. The car’s autonomous features include self-park and auto pilot.
