For the many drivers wasting fuel through bad driving habits – things like heavy breaking and stop-start driving – GoFar claims to have the answer. The clip-on connected ‘Ray’ device from the Australian start up aims to help drivers make their trips more energy efficient and, by turns, better for both the environment and the fuel budget.
Ray, which is inspired by displays used in Formula One vehicles, works by giving users real-time feedback to improve their driving habits. It glows blue when the driver is maximizing fuel consumption and red when they are being wasteful. GoFar claim that the device can help drivers cut fuel usage by up to 15 percent.
